Once registered and paid, there will NO REFUNDS for non-participation or no shows. All registration is through this central registration system and there will be no walk in entries. You agree to report to your chosen center at the time designated to check-in at our registration desk and receive the tag for the speller. The written test will start exactly on the time mentioned and it is your responsibility to check-in on time. Check-in will open at the time mentioned in the email provided to the spellers and will be approximately 30 minutes prior to the written test to accommodate all registrants. The Organizers retain the right to delay the written test to allow for all present spellers to be checked-in. Parents/Legal guardian will not be allowed in the testing area but they should not leave the premises until after the results of the written test are announced. Your email address will be used to communicate critical information regarding any and all updates, changes, communication, sponsor information and services and or information about the 2024 South Asian Spelling Bee contest to be held in June 2024 in the 3 centers with the finals to be held virtually. Registration information may also be shared with South Asian Spelling Bee sponsors. You agree to indemnify and hold SAEF and the South Asian Spelling Bee initiative, its officers, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, assigns, directors, officers, agents, service providers, suppliers, employees and, collectively “SAEF and the South Asian Spelling Bee initiative INDEMNITIES”, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney fees and court costs, made by any third party due to or arising out of your spellers participation in the contest, your violation of the terms and conditions, your breach of any of the representations and warranties herein, or your violation of any rights of another.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL SAEF INDEMNITIES BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES (EVEN IF SAEF INDEMNITIES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES), RESULTING FROM ANY ASPECT OF YOUR AND YOUR SPELLERS PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST, WHETHER THE DAMAGES ARISE FROM USE OR MISUSE OF THE CONTEST SITE OR THE SERVICE, FROM INABILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST. SUCH LIMITATION SHALL ALSO APPLY WITH RESPECT TO DAMAGES INCURRED BY REASON OF OTHER SERVICES OR PRODUCTS RECEIVED THROUGH OR ADVERTISED BY THE 2024 SOUTH ASIAN SPELLING BEE CONTEST OR THE SERVICE OR ANY LINKS ON THE WWW.SOUTHASIANSPELLINGBEE.COM SITE, AS WELL AS BY REASON OF ANY INFORMATION OR ADVICE RECEIVED THROUGH OR ADVERTISED IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST OR THE SERVICE OR ANY LINKS ON THE SITE. THESE LIMITATIONS SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. IN ANY EVENTUALITY FOR AND FOR ANY LEGAL PROCEEDINGS, YOU CONSENT THAT THE JURISDICTION WILL REST IN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY.

The organizers retain the right to change the logistics, venues, dates, rules, regulations, fees and mode of conducting the contest at any time. You agree and consent that all images, audio and videos of the event and its participants belong to the organizers and will be used for publicity purposes. You also consent if your speller is the winner of the finals the speller will be known as the South Asian Spelling Bee champ and may be used by the SAEF group, for in person, images, audio and endorsements, as a promotional model for future contests without any remuneration but reimbursement of any out of pocket expenses. Also, existing sponsors may call upon the champ to be their brand ambassador to promote their products and services, within 12 months of the contest. Any fees and or costs would be directly handled between the legal guardian/parent of the champ and the interested sponsor. A 10% agency fee will be charged by SAEF Inc. on the revenue and or fees generated by such endorsement. SAEF group is not responsible for any disputes arising out of the aforementioned arrangement. You must review this agreement on a regular basis to keep yourself apprised of any changes.

At the organizer’s sole discretion, a contest award may be in the form of a contribution to an Internal Revenue Code Section 529 qualified tuition program. If you are advised that a contest award to be provided on your behalf will be in the form of a contribution to such a program, within 60 days of such notice, you must arrange for such a program to accept your award and provide the organizer with sufficient information about the program you have selected so that the award can be contributed. Such limitations shall also apply to any tax liability resulting from your participation in the contest and the SAEF indemnities make no representation with respect to such tax liabilities.
